The frames are made of carbon-composite materials. Two main properties of this (weight and the non-isotropic character) are indispensable if the goal is to improve the performance. Due the optimal direction of the reinforcing thread the frame is stiff in the longitudinal direction and does not flex under the pedalling forces. On the other hand, it is soft in the vertical direction and it absorbs the vibrations from the road. The meeting of those properties gives a harmonic balance between comfort and performance which is the best against being tired on longer trips.
The wall thickness of the frame varies along the longitudinal axis: on critical points is thicker but at other parts is thinner for less weight. This is why the weight of the frame is comparable with the one of road racing bikes. To have more stiffness and less weight the front boom of the bike is fixed; the adjusting to the personal body dimensions is possible through sliding the seat fore or aft.
