The company
Our company has been a supplier for various automobile companies in Hungary and in Europe for more than 20 years. Our main products have been air spoilers for cars and motorbikes from which we have gained experience over a difficult field of mechanical engineering: the aerodynamics. The well known fact that air resistance increases with the speed of the moving object is basic physics. However, it is more difficult to understand and examine how one can modify the shape of the moving object to optimize its final air resistance. Now, with the use of Finite Element Method in computer engineering this becomes possible but we all agree upon the fact that experience lies in small details which has helped us through the way to the final optimum shapes of air spoilers.
In high-tech engineering material selection plays an important role too. Accelerating an object to a certain speed in a given time needs less weight. Our team has always worked with plastics for this reason. We have gained experience in thermoplastic and thermosetting materials as well. Carbon fiber/epoxy or glass fiber/polyester composites are used where strength-weight-price ratio is crucial. In other cases there is a wide range of thermoplastic materials available which can be formed into different shapes for optimum quality and price.
Due to wide range of applications we produce its necessary to be able to use numerous technologies. We work from manual laminating technologies through vacuum forming and injection molding to highly automatated CNC systems.
Mission
Due to their wide usability and comfort recumbents are becoming more and more popular in today’s cycling community. There is a lot of information around the web about recumbents but it is still all confusing. Some argue that due to their aerodynamic advantage they are faster but details are still not unveiled. What happens when cyclists are in a bunch when individual turbulence decreases? What happens uphill when there is less drag and human force and weight play bigger role? And so on…
Our team has been skeptic with recumbent enthusiast opinions but quickly got interested at the same time. We have started designing and producing prototypes a couple of years ago to find out how to combine pedaling force and aerodynamic rider position in a machine for top performance and comfort in all circumstances.
